My sister came to visit last weekend, from niagra falls.
She arrived on Thursday, but we didn’t see her until friday.

She came over just before 5, and we headed out soon after.

My sister is heavily into geo-caching, so we headed to search.

I’m not fully educated in geo-caching yet, but basically people leave items in different places in a city, and you have to try to find them. When you find an item, you write your name and or initals on a piece of paper, and you log about it on a website.
There’s more to it, but that’s the basic idea.

To be honest, I don’t really get the allure of it, but my sister’s into it, and my wife got into it, so I’ll give it a shot.

We found one cache in a park, but no luck with other ones.

After that, we went for dinner at the Grand Pizzeria.
I had Corona, and Caramel Latte Cake, which was damn good.
We headed home after that to get some much needed sleep before the long, busy day ahead of us.

I woke up at 7:30 am on saturday, and my wife and I were out the door by 9.
We headed off to see my granny at the nursing home with my family.
My mom, sister, brother, and three year old nephew were there.

We all hung out together, which we rarely get to do, which was nice.
My nephew was racing around outside in a car, so my wife suggested that we have a race.
Sure enough, we raced around for a few minutes, which was fun. It also gave me a chance to do something with my nephew. The last time I saw him was two years ago and he was just a baby.

After our visit, it was time to get tattoos. My sister got two tattoos, and two removed.

We got there around 1, and I tried finding a design that I wanted.

For the longest time, I wanted to get a wheelchair symbol done in a celtic style.
Then I started thinking as I wrote my initals a few times on my computer.
The more I wrote it, the more I realized that the “L” could easily be turned into a wheelchair. So I went there with an idea.

This is what we managed to come up with:

Personally, I think it’s the best tattoo that I have, and I think it suits me well.
It didn’t hurt when I got it, and it only took 20 minutes to get it done.

I’d like to eventually get a stamp made of it, and I’d use it as my official signature.

As far as I know, it’s very original too, which I like.

After that, my wife and I came home for an hour before our next voyage.

Our next stop was East Side Mario’s for family dinner.
This time, it was my wife & I, my mom, dad, sister, and nephew.
I drank wine, and more cake.
At one point, my nephew tried to feed me ice cream, and he managed to get it into my mouth.

After dinner, my wife and I window shopped a bit before we headed home.
The rest of the night, my wife hung out with me at my place.

The next day was spent with my wife trying to recover from the day before.

I did laundry on Monday.

Tuesday was spent having espresso, and then geo-caching that night.
We didn’t have any luck though.

I also got my wife to pick out a gift for our 4th anniversary of being engaged, which is on Thursday.
I can be pretty clueless when it comes to buying her stuff, so now we go together, so she can pick whatever she wants.

She picked out two gemstones, which are our birthstones, and she’s gonna wear them as a necklace.

All together now.

AWWWWWW!

In all seriousness, I think she’ll look beautiful wearing them for our dinner date.
We’re heading to the Merlot Rooftop Grill. We went there last year, and enjoyed it.
It’s a restaurant on top of a hotel, and it revolves.

As for Wednesday, we had coffee together. We were going to geo-cache, but it started raining.

If I have time tomorrow, I’ll (re) share the story of how I proposed.

Yesterday, I met my Wife at work at Lunch time, and we headed to a Park to hear some live Jazz. I don’t remember who they were, but they were pretty good.
After that, my Wife went back to work, and I headed off in search of Espresso, and some fun in the sun.

I stopped off at Timothy’s and drank my Espresso on their Patio. It’s not a bad way to spend a Friday Afternoon.

After that, I went to a Tattoo Shop to get some ideas for my sixth Tattoo.
The ones I have now are a lightning bolt on left bicep, barbwire around left wrist, chain around right wrist, pot leaf below left knee and chinese wording which means unique, which is on my lower right leg. The Pot Leaf is designed like the Canadian Flag, and below it, it says Oh Cannabis.

Each of my Tattoos means something to me.

The lightning bolt represents my ability to quickly destroy things in my way, plus I enjoy driving my chair around fast.

The Barbwire represents the feeling of being feeling imprisoned for 19 years when I lived in the Hospital, and how I managed to jump the fence so to speak.

The Chain represents the fact that I feel chained to/by certain things in life. It also reminds me that other Disabled people are too, and to keep fighting in order to break those chains, not just for myself, but others too.

The Pot Leaf is because, well, I used to smoke Pot often. Even though I don’t really smoke anymore, I believe that it should be decriminalized or even legalized. I know a few people who smoke it for Medical reasons, and I strongly support the cause.

The Tattoo that means unique is because I think it defines my personality, my life, and even the way I look. I happen to take alot of pride in that too. I’m unique, and proud of it.

As far as my next Tattoo goes, I think I’d like to get the Wheelchair Symbol, but I’d add a Celtic twist to it or something. I’m actually Half Irish, and well, in a Wheelchair.
Pretty self explanatory I think.
I’ll probably get it on my Forearm.

As of right now, the plan is to hopefully get in done in August when my Sister’s in Town.

While on the topic of Tattoos, I was going to take my Wife to see The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo tonight, but she changed her mind.

In other news…
Apparently, this new Chair is pretty quiet, which is both good and bad.
It’s good because I can sneak up on people and scare them, and be stealthy. I love being stealthy. It’s refreshing to actually have some people NOT notice me for once.

The bad part of not sounding like a Tank is people aren’t getting out of my way as much. In my old Chair, they’d hear me coming, and the smart ones would move. I was like Moses parting the Red Sea.
The not so smart ones stare or ignore me, and if they got in my way, well, they’d become bowling pins.

And that’s just another reason why being Disabled is fun at times.

I started my Friday Morning at 9 am, which is early for me. I had an appointment at 11. When I arrived to the Clinic, i had to go to the bathroom, but someone was in there.

You know what really grinds my gears?

One of my pet peeves in life are able bodied people who use bathrooms made specifically for disabled people.

There’s a big sign on the bathroom door with the wheelchair symbol and it says Washroom below it. The one for able bodied folks is literally right beside it.

A few minutes later, the guy walks out, no apology even. Meanwhile, I’m late for my appointment just because some guy decided to take a shit in the Disabled Person’s bathroom.

While I’m on this topic.
Who came up with the design for the wheelchair symbol?
It’s messed up!

First of all, by their logic, we’re all bald with skinny necks. Apparently our limbs are perfectly squared too.
For some reason, the chair’s back wheel isn’t even connected to anything. So basically this oddly shaped “C” is following Square Man’s ass.

Someone needs to update the symbol. I’m sure that one has scared a shitload of kids and probably even some Adults.

I can just imagine a kid saying “Mommy, what’s wrong with him?” “Well, when he was born, he had a “C” sticking out of his ass, Timmy, and that’s why he can’t walk”. We call them “Disabled” or “Physically Challenged”.

Well yeah, if I had a “C” sticking out of my ass, I’d be freakin disabled.

So after my appointment, my Wife & I headed home for Lunch. We both left at 1:30 to seperate places.

My Wife had to go for a Mammogram. She told me that I could post the following on my blog.

She said that she thinks they should give out free bras following the Mammogram. The same way that a Dentist gives you a free Toothbrush after your visit.

Please keep in mind, that between the two of us, I’m the one who performed Stand Up Comedy for two years.

Anyways, as for me, I headed out to try to get a new Health Card, but I had no luck. They wanted my Birth Certificate, which I don’t have.

I returned home shortly afterwards.
I have a friend coming over tonight.

There’s some Bagpipe thing going on this Weekend on Parliament Hill called Fortissimo. Basically it’s a Military/Musical spectacular. We’ll probably check that out at some point this weekend.

Other than that, that’s about it for now.

Thanks for reading.
