Last time I posted was on Wednesday, just before using my new Ventilator.

The first night was pretty rough. It kept beeping every few minutes, which meant i got almost no sleep that night. The next day was pretty much a write-off.
I went out for about an hour to try to wake up, but it didn’t really help.

Later that night, I had a surprise visit from two friends of mine, Ashley & Cedric.
They both used to look after me for awhile, and we’ve stayed friends. My Wife & I even attended their Wedding a few years ago, which was pretty fun.
Anyways, I hung out with them for about an hour, which woke me up, and cheered me up.

Thanks guys

I was pretty tired by the time I went to Bed, so I slept like a baby.

Personally, I never understood that saying.
Babies poop, pee, and usually cry & scream at night. I don’t cry & scream, but ok whatever.

Anyways, the next day, I stayed home, but hung out with my Wife that night.

Saturday was a very busy day for us, but we had a blast.

Our first stop was Expresso Cafe, so I could grab an Espresso.
From there, we headed to La Petite Mort Gallery, which is a small Art Gallery in Ottawa.
They’re running an Exhibit, and my Wife knows one of the featured Artists.

Things got interesting.
A few days ago, I emailed the Gallery to see if they were Wheelchair Accessible.
The guy said they had a Ramp, but it was stored in the Basement, and to let them know when I was coming, and they’d get it out.

Well, they put the Ramp out for me when we arrived. It looked pretty steep though, and I didn’t want to try.
The Guy brought out two Sculptures which were made by my Wife’s friend.
One happened to be a Penis, and the other one was a Vagina. So there I was in the middle of the Sidewalk with a Penis & a Vagina on my tray. The whole time, we’re just talking away about them.

After a few minutes, we headed off.
Special thanks to the people at La Petite Mort Gallery for showing me those pieces.

From there, my Wife and I went into a few Stores in the Market on our way to get Gelato.

After the Gelato, we headed to the Rideau Centre for a bit.
My Wife bought me a Starbucks Card, and put $10 on it.

We headed home for a bit to rest up before we headed to the Greekfest.

We arrived there shortly before The Zorba Show.
The Zorba Show is where people dance, break plates and glasses while getting drunk on Ouzo, which is Greek Booze.
I should also mention that part of the show involves them dancing in the middle of a fire circle.
It’s insane!

Speaking of Ouzo, I had three shots of it, and it’s pretty good, perhaps too good.

After the show, they invited everyone to dance, and sure enough we did.

At one point, I got stuck in the middle of a dance circle, so I just started dancing while I was in it. I wish I got that on Video though. It was pretty funny.

Trying to dance while driving a 500 pound Wheelchair is pretty hard, especially after having three shots of Ouzo, but I managed to avoid running anyone over.

We headed home awhile later, but we had a blast though.
OPA!

As for today, I had Coffee with my Wife. She tried to make Espresso with her Espresso Maker, but it tasted more like Coffee. It was still pretty good.

After that, I did Laundry.
Tonight, I’m heading out to watch WWE Summerslam.

As for this Week, besides the Meeting on Tuesday Morning, no real plans.
My Sister & Nephew arrive on Thursday, but I probably won’t see them until Saturday Morning.

I might go to the Ex on Thursday. The Ex is our annual Fair.

That’s about it.

I wanted to post yesterday, but I was too brain dead from being outside.

Anyways, this is what I did this past Weekend.

On Saturday, I headed to the Sparks Street Mall for the Buskerfest.

I saw two acts that day.

Liquer Flambé — These 2 were from Australia. Their act featured a Violin, Fire eating, and Juggling. It wasn’t bad, but I’ve seen better.

Checkerboard Guy — This guy was funny, but catered mostly to Kid. Good show though.

I headed home shortly after that.
I called my Nephew to wish him a Happy 3rd Birthday, which was on Saturday.
My Sister will be bringing him to visit at the end of August.

I spent the rest of the night vegging out online, and watching TV.

Sunday was a long day for me, but pretty fun.

My first stop was Pure Gelato.
Normally when I have Gelato, I’m with my Wife and we share it. It usually works out to about 6-10 bites. I’m certainly not complaining, but sometimes you gotta spoil yourself, especially if your sig other’s out of Town.

I went kinda crazy on the Gelato.
I ordered two flavors. One was Crem Caramel, and the other was Chocolate.
They were both damn good.
I quickly got full after a few minutes, but I managed to eat half a bowl.

By the time I left, I felt like a fat Pig.
For obvious reasons, I just can’t walk it off, and driving a Chair doesn’t really burn Calories.

From there, I headed to the Rideau Canal Festival. My Wife & I “adopted a Metre”, but I couldn’t find the spot for the Plaque with our names on it. I asked at the Information Tent, but they were useless. They said it starts under the Bridge, and that I can look it up online. Yeah, I did that beforehand, douchebag.

I was getting hot, so I decided to head to the Rideau Centre to cool off for a bit.

After awhile, I headed to a Patio and had a Beer.

Later, I headed back to the Sparks Street Mall to see some more Buskers.

When I showed up, right away I saw Silver Elvis.

Silver Elvis — He was standing elevated, dressed like Elvis, and painted all in Silver. Basically, he’d dance or move if you dropped Money in his Piggy Bank. He looked pretty cool, but he didn’t do that much.

Jeff Hill — I’ve seen this guy before and he puts on a great show. He swallows objects and brings them up, plays with & eats fire, illusions, and gets out from a Strait Jacket. His show’s Soundtrack is pretty rockin’ too. After the show, I went up and gave him $2.

I tried to see a few other acts, but I was too late. There were too many people for me to even attempt getting a spot.

That was it for my day.

As for today, I went to Starbucks to get an Espresso.

My Wife returns tonight.
Her Brother and his Kid will be staying with her, so we’ll probably hang out tonight, and part of tomorrow.

I hope you all had a good Weekend out there.

So yesterday, I started the day with having Coffee with my Wife.
We watched some of the Festivities from Parliament Hill on CBC TV.

For some reason, the Queen looked PISSED off.
My theory was she didn’t like having to sit through French Singers, which included Natives doing Hip-Hop.
Trust me, I’d be mad too.

After I finished my Coffee, I headed off downtown.
I got stuck for thirty minutes right in front of Parliament Hill.
The Queen was giving her speech right at that moment.

After I got passed that, I still had about 10,000 other people to deal with.
It isn’t easy driving a 500 pound Powered Wheelchair with that many people around, I managed to avoid running over anyone.

By the time, I made it to the Rideau Centre, I really had to pee.
I headed to the Bathroom to do my Business, and I see a guy who used to serve me Coffee daily.
So we started chatting while guys were coming in & out, and probably wondering what the hell was going on.
Luckily, I had zipped up by then.
It was good to see him though.

From there, I headed to the Market, down Rideau Street, up Rideau to Sparks.
By this time, it started raining, so I heading home for a little while.

I met up with my Wife about an hour later at the Jazz Festival.
We checked out Elliot Brood, and they were pretty good actually.

We headed home after that, so my Wife could eat, and I could relax.
It started getting windy & cool outside.
I didn’t want to have a repeat of what happened last Saturday, so I spent a nice Evening with my Wife.

As for heading, I’ll be heading downtown in a little while to hopefully have Gelato with my Wife.

Tomorrow night, we’re heading out to see The Last Airbender.
It looks like an awesome Movie, and it’s in 3D.

Have a good Weekend, and Happy July 4th to all Americans out there.

Despite the title, this isn’t a post about my sex life.

I know it’s been awhile since my last post.
I have alot to say, so let’s get to it.

So last Saturday, it was crappy outside, so I stayed home.
Later that day, I spent the Evening with my Wife.

Luckily, the next day was beautiful, so we took full advantage of it.

We started off by heading Downtown to check out a Cafe that my Wife heard about.
The place is called Xpresso, and it’s right behind the Metro Grocery Store on Rideau Street.
It’s a pretty nice place, but the pictures on their Website make it look bigger than it is.
The Bathroom is Wheelchair Accessible, they also sell my favorite Beer, and their Espresso’s pretty good.
They also have TVs everywhere.
On Thursdays, they have live Music, so I plan on checking that out at least once this Summer.
If you’re in Ottawa, I suggest you check it out.

If you go, tell them Ryan sent you. They’ll have no idea who the hell you’re talking about, but it might be funny.

So after that, we went Shopping.
Now, as most Married Men know, Shopping with your Wife or sig other is never as quick or easy as we envision.

By the time we were done, it was time for me to go home for a bit.
About thirty minutes later, we headed back out, and walked down by the River.
We just walked around, took pictures of the scenery, and then headed home.
It was nice & romantic.

Monday was my big appointment for my new Wheelchair.
This is the day that I’d get to take a loaner Chair home to try it out.
Before I did that, I got transferred from my old Chair to a bed, so they could transfer my seat to the other Chair.
From there, I got put back into the new Chair, and all set up so I could try out the new Joystick.

At first, I had a hard time driving it because it was too fast, and it kept tipping backwards. I also kept running into things.
After a few minor adjustments, I tried it again, and it went much better.

Later that day, I went to the park to try it out in a wide opened space.
Everything kept getting easier, plus I’m typically a quick learner.

Originally, I was just gonna try it until Thursday, but I was unable to get to my Appointment.
As of now, I’m not sure when I’ll be returning it.
I wish I could try it out for the whole Summer while the paperwork’s being processed, but I doubt it.

On Wednesday, I co-taught a Workshop about Stand-Up Comedy.
This was for people with various Mental Disorders, which made things interesting.

We started off with six people.

One person decided to draw instead of taking notes.
One person became agitated/uncomfortable and decided to leave.
Another person kept coming & going, but eventually stayed.
We ended up having 5 people left by the time it ended.

All in all, it was an interesting experience.
I hope to do it again eventually.

I got home around 1:35 pm.
Little did I know, my day was about to become more interesting.

At 1:41 pm, as I was heading back out to get an Espresso, an Earthquake happened, and it was big, at least for this Area.
My Wife called to see if I was ok, and luckily, everything was ok. Nothing fell or broke.
Her Office Building was being evacuated.

From there, I headed out to try to find her.
I just had this sense that she needed me, and I wanted to be there for her.
Sadly, I couldn’t find her though.
I guess I’ll never make the cover of a cheesy Romance Novel.

There were TONS of people standing around outside because every Office Building Downtown got evacuated.
After awhile, I gave up looking for her & tried to get an Espresso, but most places were closed due to the Quake.
I came across Tim Horton’s, and managed to get a Coffee.

I headed home, & my Wife called soon after that.
She bought me an Espresso, which was damn good.
So at that point, I had half a Cup of Coffee, plus an Espresso.
Since I got up at 8, I needed them both.

We were supposed to go to the Jazz Festival that night, but it rained.
Instead, we ended up having a nice quiet Evening together.

Thursday was a Holiday for French people, so I was able to spend part of the day with my Wife.
We had Espresso, and really delicious Chocolates.

As of now, no real plans this Weekend besides seeing my Mom before she leaves for a Month.

Sorry that this post was so long, but I hope you enjoyed reading it.

On WednesdayNight, I went to see Iron Man 2, and it was awesome!
Not quite as good as the first one, but it’s a close call actually.

It rained off/on all day on Wednesday.
When the Movie was over, there was a downpour going on.
Luckily, I had a ride on Para Transpo, but I still had to get on the Bus.
I decided to put on my Poncho, which made me look like a HUGE Condom or the Bubble Boy.
By the time I got home, the rain had stopped.

Thursday Afternoon was spent trying out my new Wheelchair Controls.
For those unaware, the ones I have now are called Proximity Switches.
Basically, I can just tap the buttons and off I go.
The new Control, if all goes well, will be a single piece.
I’ll be using a Joystick with my thumb.

I had a few problems while testing it out, but next Week, I’ll be able to try it out for a whole Week. I’m hoping that it goes well and it all works out.

After my Appointment, I headed Downtown, and had a Beer on a Patio.
There was a HUGE Crane in front of us, and my Waitress told me about a show that involved people drumming high up in the air.
A few minutes later, the show started and it was pretty cool.

Apparently they’re performing again this Weekend, but you gotta pay, and frankly, that’s just not happening.

Have a good Weekend everyone.

As of this posting, I have no idea what happened last night on America’s Got Talent. My Wife asked me to record it because she was busy cleaning and fell asleep early. I’ve managed to avoid reading about it on Twitter and elsewhere online. Trust me, it’s hard to resist the urge. I’m not sure when we’ll watch it because she’s going away this weekend. When she gets back, her 10 year old Niece will be here for two days before my Wife & I head to Montreal for the day next Saturday.

With that said, I headed out to a movie last night. I went to see A Perfect Getaway. Long story short, two couples are touring a Hawaiian Island. Word just got out about a Killer on the loose. Basically, you gotta figure out who the bad guys are, and it’s full of twists.

To be honest, the Movie isn’t that great. It only starts getting semi good near the end. The rest of the Movie is basically them exploring the Island, hunting, kayaking, and hiking.

I recommend that you DON’T see it or at least wait until it comes out on DVD.

I’m not sure what I’m doing tonight, but hopefully I’ll get to spend time with my Wife before she goes away.

As for my weekend, I’m not sure yet. I may check out a free showing of Beetlejuice outdoors on Saturday night.

It’s free.

Thanks for reading.

Last night was pretty fun with my friend. We hung out and had some beers while discussing my big idea. It’s too soon to discuss it here and I don’t want to jinx it.

As for today, I headed to Starbucks on Elgin Street for Coffee. Typically, I avoid Starbucks, but my Attendant had a Coupon, so I had one of the expensive Coffees. I had White Chocolate Mocha, which was DAMN good.

After that, I walked around downtown, to the Market, the park. While in the park, I came across a Protest for Iran. From there, I headed home.

Something funny happened on the way home.
I came across these two guys who were walking a big black Dog. Another guy was walking a little yap Dog and the two Dogs were staring at eachother. For a moment, I was hoping that they’d go at it Michael Vick style, but no. I despise yap Dogs and anyone who owns one.

The black Dog keeps walking while I’m a few feet behind him. As they cross the Street, the Dog suddenly stops in the middle of the Street and just sits down. At first, I wasn’t sure what was happening. I passed in front of him right when he was taking a large crap. I started laughing my ass off and was very happy that I passed IN FRONT of him instead of behind him.

So long story short, if your Dog’s a big Dog and the other is a yap Dog, shit’s gonna happen.

The same thing happens to me when I see a Midget.

In other news, my Wife and I are going to see Fortissimo tonight.
Read my last post for more information on that.

I read today that they found Cocaine in Billy Mays’s body after he died. Apparently, he tried it just a few days before he died.
So, long story short, don’t do Cocaine, kids.

Speaking of famous people dying too soon.
John Hughes suddenly died earlier this week while jogging in New York City. He was only 59 years old, which is pretty young.

I was a huge fan of his when I was a kid. Such movies as The Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Uncle Buck, Sixteen Candles, National Lampoon’s Vacation, National Lampoon’s European Vacation & even Home Alone are all movies that have fond memories for me.

R.I.P. John Hughes
We won’t won’t won’t won’t…forget about you.
