On Wednesday Night, the final Episode of this year’s America’s Got Talent aired.
By the end of the show, we’d find out who wins a Million Dollars and their own show in Las Vegas.

The night started off with ten Finalists:

Barbara Padilla (Opera Singer)
Drew Stevyns (Singer/Guitarist)
Hairo Torres (Breakdancer)
Lawrence Beamen (Singer)
Recycled Percussion (Band)
Fab Five (Power Tap Dancers)
Grandma Lee (Comedian)
Kevin Skinner (Singer/Guitarist)
The Texas Tenors (Singing Group)
The Voices of Glory (Singers)

With two hours to kill, they had to fill it with something.

Things started with the 10 Finalists taking part in a song performed by Thelma Houston.
It was a fun way to kick off the show, but it reminded me of American Idol.

On the opposite spectrum, they had a bunch of AGT rejects sing as well. This ended with Grandma Lee wearing a Wedding Gown beside Piers Morgan.

Leona Lewis performed next.
I don’t know who she was, but I didn’t like her.

Cirque D Soleil performed somewhere around here.
I can’t really write things down when I’m not at my Computer.

The second hour began with five eliminations.

The ones who moved on were:

The Texas Tenors (Singing Group)
Recycled Percussions (Band)
The Voices Of Glory (Singers)
Barbara Padilla (Opera Singer)
Kevin Skinner (Singer/Guitarist)

With that done, Shakira performed next, which was all kinds of sexiness.

Up next, three more would be eliminated.

The ones that moved on were:

Barbara Padilla (Opera Singer)
Kevin Skinner (Singer/Guitarist)

Next up, Susan Boyle performed a cover of “Wild Horses” by The Rolling [stones.
I thought she did a FANTASTIC job of it.
I consider myself a Susan Boyle fan.

After that, it was time to find out the Winner of America’s Got Talent for 2009.

And the Winner is…
Kevin Skinner!

I called it!
From the moment I first heard him do a Garth Brooks song, I knew he’d win.

So there’s your 2009 Edition of America’s Got Talent.
I thought it was prett good for the most part.

Thanks for reading.

The Finals were held last night on America’s Got Talent.
Here’s who performed and what happened:

Barbara Padilla (Opera Singer)
She did the Song that she performed at her Audition. She blew me away with her performance. My only problem with her is that she sounds too good. Part of me thinks that she’s secretly a Professional Opera Singer, and therefore shouldn’t be in a Competition like this.

Drew Stevyns (Singer/Guitarist)
He did a cover of Chrissie Hines’s “I’ll Stand By You”, which is a pretty good Song. I just didn’t like his version of it. He’s a douche bag and he annoys me.

Hairo Torres (Breakdancer)
He did a “tortured soul” bit as part of his set, which I thought was pretty interesting. I can somewhat relate to that.

Lawrence Beamen (Singer)
He did a cover of a Barry White Song. I didn’t like it. When I think of Barry White, I picture getting freaky with a Woman. Put it this way, he went into the Crowd and just stood in a front of a Girl and just sang. Like I told my Wife, if that was me, I’d grope the Girl while I sang. As my Wife said, he needed to put his Cock into it. I sure as hell would.

Recycled Percussion (Band)
Ok, so you got The Blue Man Group Lite here. Their set featured two of their members getting wet and banging on things. I could go for the easy joke here, but I’ll pass.
I didn’t like them.

Fab Five (Power Tap Dancers)
Ah, the all Female Tap Dancing version of The Osmonds. What can I say? they danced, smiled, and talked about their happy Family life. No thanks.

Grandma Lee (Comedian)
She started off strong with a joke about Ryan Seacrest watching Brokeback Mountain. She finished strong with a joke about her new love, Simon Cowell. I found the middle part of her set kinda weak. It’s too bad cause I really enjoyed her other sets.

Kevin Skinner (Singer/Guitarist)
Another one of my faves here. He did a cover of Aerosmith’s “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing”, which is another great song, but he should’ve done it without a Band. I think he would’ve nailed it otherwise.

The Texas Tenors (Singing Group)
I took this time to go to the Bathroom. When I came back, they sounded like they were barking or beying at the Moon. Either way, it wasn’t good.

The Voices of Glory (Singers)
They did a cover of Whitney Houston’s “The Greatest Love Of All”. I couldn’t even bear to watch it. Their voices certainly didn’t sound glorious. I’ve seen better acts in Churches, and I never go to Church.

Out of all of these, I think Barbara Padilla has the best shot at winning this year’s America’s Got Talent.

The results will be announced tomorrow night.
Also scheduled for tomorrow is a Performance by Susan Boyle.
Apparently she did a cover of The Rolling Stones “Wild Horses”.
I haven’t actually heard it yet, but I’ve heard that it’s pretty good.

I’ll be back either late tomorrow night or on Thursday to let you know who won.

Thanks for reading.

I hope you all had a good weekend.
Mine was pretty low key, but that can be a good thing.

As most of you know, I’ll be watching America’s Got Talent tonight.
Tonight is the night where all 10 of the remaining Performers will be performing LIVE on Stage. After the Show, you guys get to vote and on Wednesday night, the big Winner will be announced.

Here’s the list of the Finalists slated to perform tonight:

Barbara Padilla (Opera Singer)
Drew Stevyns (Singer/Guitarist)
Hairo Torres (Breakdancer)
Lawrence Beamen (Singer)
Recycled Percussion (Band)
Fab Five (Power Tap Dancers)
Grandma Lee (Comedian)
Kevin Skinner (Singer/Guitarist)
The Texas Tenors (Singing Group)
The Voices of Glory (Singers)

Like I wrote the other day, I’m going for Grandma Lee, or Kevin Skinner. It’s gonna be interesting to see who wins.
Tomorrow, I’ll be posting a recap of the Show and who I voted for.

Now on to other stuff.
I have some big news to share with you all.
As some of you know, I was forced to stopped doing Stand-Up Comedy a year ago, simply because there weren’t any Wheelchair Accessible Comedy Clubs left in Ottawa.
We all know it’s unfair, wrong and all that crap. We don’t need to get into that again, at least not right now.

The good news is that I’m happy to say that I’ll be doing Stand-Up Comedy once again in Ottawa.
Here’s the information:

I will be performing Stand Up Comedy LIVE at Algonquin College on Wednesday October 21st. The show starts at 9 PM in The Observatory Bar but you MUST be there BEFORE 8:30. The show is FREE, but you MUST have VALID ID to get in. I’ll be doing ALL NEW jokes, so come check it out!

For more details, please feel free to contact me either by replying to this post, or by email at
I hope to see alot of you there.
Hell, I want a sell out.
I’m hoping that if it sells out or we get alot of people that they’ll have me back more often.
Please support the ONLY Local Wheelchair Accessible Comedy Venue left in Ottawa, Canada.

Now I gotta get back to writing my set.

Thanks for reading.

On Wednesday, the results were announced for the last group in the Semi Finals of America’s Got Talent.

Here’s who’s moving on:

Barbara Padilla (Opera Singer)
Drew Stevyns (Singer/Guitarist)
Hairo Torres (Breakdancer)
Lawrence Beamen (Singer)
Recycled Percussion (Band)

I don’t think Recycled Percussion, or Drew Stevyns should be there.
Personally, I’d replace them with AcroDunk, and Mario & Jenny.
That’s just my opinion though.

On Monday night, the 10 remaining will perform in the Final, and the next night, we find out who wins.

Here’s the full list of Performers that will be performing this Monday night:

Barbara Padilla (Opera Singer)
Drew Stevyns (Singer/Guitarist)
Hairo Torres (Breakdancer)
Lawrence Beamen (Singer)
Recycled Percussion (Band)
Fab Five (Power Tap Dancers)
Grandma Lee (Comedian)
Kevin Skinner (Singer/Guitarist)
The Texas Tenors (Singing Group)
The Voices of Glory (Singers)

I’m still hoping that it’ll either be Grandma Lee or Kevin Skinner. It’s gonna be tough though cause I was pretty impressed with Barbara Padilla. Even though I’m not a fan of Opera, I know talent when I see it.
Either way, it’ll be very interesting to see who wins it all.

We had a great time last night at The Merlot Rooftop Grill last night. We stayed long enough to take two spins in the revolving Restaurant.

We had Wine, she had Salad, we had Creme Brulee, and Coffee.
I drank most of the Wine actually.

I have two beefs about the place though.

1. The fact that you gotta take the Elevator to the floor below it, then climb upstairs to get a key so you can take the Elevator up one floor to the Restaurant. I had people with me, but what happens if you’re wheelin solo? You’re fucked until someone comes down the stairs.

2. Way too much AC! When’s the temperature’s going down to six degrees, you don’t need air conditioning. When I went to the movie the other day, the AC was broken and people were ACTUALLY happy about it, including me.

After Dinner, we headed home together.

I forgot to record America’s Got Talent, but I found the results.
Drew Stevyns, The Eriam Sisters, Recycled Percussion, Barbara Padilla and Erik and Rickie all advanced to the next round.

I’m not happy about Drew Stevyns, and the Recycled Percussions won. So much for originality I guess.

At least three of my picks moved on.
The next show will be Tuesday night.

Well that’s it for now.

Today, is my Third Anniversary of when I proposed to my Wife.
As promised, here’s the story of how it happened. The story’s one of my favorites, and it even includes an International Political Figure who’s actually in the news today.

It all started a few weeks before our trip to Toronto. I was on an OC Transpo bus heading to Walmart to get a few things. I knew I had a big trip coming up and I wanted to get her something special.

My Attended reminded me that they sold Engagement Rings at Walmart. At first, I was skeptical of buying it at Walmart. It just didn’t seem like something that I’d buy at Walmart.

I walked in and headed to the Counter to look at Rings. After about 15 or 20 minutes, I found the one that I wanted and thought that would look good on her finger. All I had to do was figure out how to propose to her.

The next few weeks were rough on me. I wrote, and rewrote the proposal. I’m not the type of guy that follows a script. When I did Comedy, I would often improvise on the spot during my set. Needless to say, this wasn’t an easy task.

As weeks turned into days before our trip, I was getting more and more nervous every day. Soon it was time to go to the Train Station.

We arrived at the Ottawa Train Station, not knowing who was going to be in First Class with us.

While we were waiting in the Train Station’s VIP Lounge, we saw Luba Goy. Luba Goy is a Lengendary Canadian Comedian, most notable from the Royal Canadian Air Farce. Sadly, I remembered her most from being on Mr. Dressup and other kids shows.

For most of the ride, she sat elsewhere in our section. At one point, she walked by us to use the bathroom. On her way back, I yelled out, hey, I know you. From there, she introduced herself and she asked to join us. I must admit that I was a little starstrucked, just because she’s a Comedy Legend. At the time, I was just a few days away from my first Comedy gig ever. This was a pretty big deal to me.

She stayed with us for the rest of the trip, which was about two hours at this point. She was a great lady, very interested in us and our story etc. She even called me a few days later and literally left a 5 minute message on my voicemail. I was sad that I missed her call. I tried to contact her, but had no luck.

As if that wasn’t odd enough, there was someone else sitting near us, who’s pretty well known too. As it turned out, The President Of Afghanistan, Hamid Karzai was sitting beside us surrounded by Bodyguards.

At first, I didn’t believe it, but Luba Goy, and my Wife confirmed it. I googled him when we returned home, sure enough, it was him. He made small talk with us for a few minutes, which was pretty neat.

Our Train arrived, and my Wife & I headed to our Hotel right across the Street. We managed to get a Suite at the Fairmont Royal York. The room was HUGE, and I could actually use the bathroom. I can’t even do that in my home.

The moment was soon to arrive. I decided that I wanted to be comfortable, so I proposed to her just wearing Boxers. She was wearing something comfty and sexy as well.

All I truly remember from the Proposal is saying that I want to tell her something. Apparently, I freaked her out because she thought I was mad at her or something. That’s not a good way to begin a Proposal.
As it turned out, she said yes, and I later found out that she was hoping that I’d ask.

We went to bed after that. Believe it or not, this was the first time we were able to sleep together. The reason is because I was still using a Hospital Bed at the time, and it was just a single bed. In fact, whenever she stayed over, she’d have to sleep on the floor. Needless to say, we didn’t really sleep that night in Toronto.

The next morning, we ordered room service. I managed to frighten the guy with an overly friendly hello from my bed, which was about 40 or 50 feet from the door. Hey, I got engaged, and spent the night having great sex. I think you’d be pretty happy too.

My Wife & I spent a few hours sightseeing in Toronto and went up The CN Tower, which was my second time there at that point. I went back one time since, which was just last Summer.

A few hours later, we headed back to Ottawa. There wasn’t anyone famous on our journey back, but we had a train load of memories.

Tonight we’re heading to a revolving Roof Top Restaurant to celebrate.

It’s not as high as The CN Tower, but it’s not easy to when you’re still on top of the world, three years later.

So, last night was full of performances on America’s Got Talent.
Here’s a list of who performed:

Ishaara (Bollywood Dance Group)
Barbara Padilla (Opera Singer)
Pam Martin’s Top Dogs (Dog Variety Act)
African High Flyers (Acrobats)
Mia Boostrom (Singer/Musician)
Erik and Rickie (Ballroom Dancers)
Coney Island Chris (Sideshow)
Matt & Anthony (Dance/Musician Duo)
The Lollipop Girls (Burlesque Dance Troupe)
Drew Stevyns (Singer/Guitarist)
Recycled Percussion Band (Band)
The EriAm Sisters (Singing Group)

I didn’t get a chance to vote before the deadline, but the first two acts (Ishaara, & Barbara Padilla) were pretty good.

Ishaara knows their Bollywood stuff and they did a great job. Barbara Padilla also turned in a great performance. Opera isn’t my thing, but I like people with true talent in Music.

Pam Martin’s Top Dogs were alright, but Dog Acts tend to bore me after awhile.
African High Flyers weren’t bad, but their Audition was better.

Mia Boostrom tried out last year, but didn’t make it. This time around, she did a Leonard Cohen song that suited her. It was a pretty strong performance.
Erik and Rickie were very good. They’re only 8 and 9 years old, but danced like Adults who’ve done it their whole life. I was VERY impressed by them.

The Lollipop Girls were sexy and danced well, plus gave a show suited for Las Vegas. On the other hand, Coney Island Chris absolutely bombed. He lit his Tongue on fire, and blew flames. We’ve all seen that.

I’m not really sure what Matt & Anthony are trying to do. One sings with a Guitar while the other is tap dancing. Odd combo.
Drew Stevyns has an ok voice, but far from being the best Singer on the show. He also looks like just another douche bag with a Guitar.

Recycled Percussion Band has been done to death already. They’re like the Blue Man Group minus the make-up.
The EriAm Sisters were very good at doing a Destiny’s Child song.

Out of the ones that performed last night, here’s my choices for the ones to move on:
Barbara Padilla
Mia Boostrom
Erik and Rickie
The Lollipop Girls
The EriAm Sisters

We’ll find out tonight who moves on to the next round.

Thanks for reading.
